Vipre Antivirus 2012 Review

I decided to use Vipre Antivirus 2012. Although Vipre is not much popular as compared to other security products but I thought it may be worth trying. The software has two versions: one is the internet security version while the other is the normal antivirus software. Both these versions can be downloaded from the official web site

It seems the company (GFI) makes the case of being the light-weight antivirus that does not slow down your PC. Web site claims that it will remove all kinds of dangerous infections from the PC.

As I started downloading and installing the software I was not getting impressed by it. And when the software was finally installed after a long interval (quite a few minutes) the scanning process was initiated through the not so good looking Vipre Antivirus 2012.

Scanning was taking a long time so I stopped it. There were 8 risks found which I fixed through the trial version.

Update feature was set on automatic. Overall look (GUI) of Vipre seems to be average! Also the feature to set
active protection settings is complicated.

In terms of performance the software is running well and giving the sense of security.
