Fix Skyrim PC Crash

Change Sound Settings Appropriately

The sound settings that you already set-up might be leading to this crash problem. Fix Skyrim PC crash by changing them in an appropriate manner as shown below:

Click Start | Control Panel.
Click Hardware and Sound | Sound.
Under Playback tab, select your speaker and click Properties.
Click Advanced tab in the new dialog.
Select this option: 44.1 KHz 16 Bit
Click Test to experiment.
Click OK | OK.

Check for Driver Scan

Your computer might be out-of-date. That means the device drivers installed on it can possibly be outdated. Check for their latest versions and install them to fix Skyrim PC crash.

Download a DriverUpdater.
Start a scan. It may take a minute or two.
Download all the latest versions as soon as the scan is finished.

Turn the Antivirus Protection Off

Your antivirus program is preventing Skyrim from running. To help fix Skyrim PC crash, turn the antivirus off and re-start the game.

Run in Compatibility Mode

Under Compatibility Mode frame, mark Run this program in compatibility mode for checked.

Reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable

The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package can be corrupted, leading Skyrim PC crashes. Reinstall it to fix your problem.

Click Start | Control Panel.
Click Programs | Uninstall a Program.
Select it from the list of installed programs and click Uninstall or Remove button.
Follow the on screen wizard, restart the computer and connect to the internet.

Download the file and run it to start the installation.
